Hiya & Bienvenidos.

I am Dr. Lacey Xepoleas, a trauma informed therapist specializing in identity development / exploration, anxiety (worry, overthinking, physiological distress, etc.), depression (sadness, low mood, fatigue, self-harm,etc.) teenage struggles, and more. I am currently serving adults, young adults, and teenagers in the East Bay Area (Walnut Creek), Rocklin & Auburn, and throughout CA via telehealth.

I practice from a Humanistic, affirming, open perspective and do not believe in “fixing” anyone, as I believe no one is “broken.” I work with those who are “supposed” to feel a certain way, and do not. Those who wonder how they may “be better", when simply being them is enough.

If you are curious, my last name is pronounced EX-UH-POH-LEE-US (with a hard X). You are welcome to call me Dr. Lacey, Lacey, or Dr. Xepoleas if you feel so inclined.

As a clinician with many intersecting identities (including being bi-racial, identifying as bi-sexual, and having grown up with a visual impairment), I’m passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where you can explore your unique identity and experiences. I have gone through many challenges in my own life and continue to heal with my own trauma, a part of my life that has woven its way into my therapeutic practice.

All are welcome in my space. With differing viewpoints, beliefs, experiences, values, style…You are welcome here.

Please know, if I do not have experience working with your unique identities, I will do my best to meet your needs and / or find someone who can serve you better than I can.

I offer services primarily in English with a little Spanglish mixed in as needed. One day, I hope to offer services in Spanish as a fluent Spanish speaking individual!

  • For those who are interested…

I obtained a B.S in Human Services with an emphasis on Mental Health Counseling and a minor focus in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton.

I have also obtained a M.A in Clinical Psychology from John. F. Kennedy University.

I then completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at John. F. Kennedy University.

I am licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY35430) and am actively pursuing certifications in Brainspotting Therapy at this time.

I have over 8 years of experience in various mental health settings, including 6 years of doctoral training. I have worked in many settings, including elementary schools, University Counseling, substance use treatment facilities, and case management throughout my career and have experience in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.

  • One of the most important things to know about me is that I genuinely believe in practicing what I ask of my clients. I attend therapy myself and regularly explore my own growth and challenges. If I’m encouraging you to go deeper and embrace discomfort, know that I’m right there with you, doing the same work.

Outside of the office, I love reading (fiction only, no self-help!), listening to music 24/7, spending time with my dog Lani, and hitting the trails on my mountain bike. I’m passionate about outdoor adventures—camping, hiking, and backpacking are some of my favorite activities. Cooking and trying new recipes also bring me joy.

I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my partner and Lani, my border collie mix. You might spot me at Trader Joe’s or out on a trail enjoying nature!

When we say “but,” everything before that word seems to fall away and matter less... When we say “and,” it creates room for both possibilities.
